Cups of paint, jewels, and faux fur, mounted on sequined fabric
Right after the fire, making these “Girlfriends” brought me the most joy. Previously, I had been scraping my used paint into paper cups to toss out, but then realized one day that that the cups of paint had a lot of personality and I began to purposely drip paint into the cups and add jewels and then fur around the outside. It occurred to me that these beautiful holes surrounded with fur had become metaphors for female anatomy, and I decided to name them after my girlfriends. A few of these are still available for purchase.
