Immediately after the fire roared through our community taking with it thirty years of stored artwork, I found it difficult to work in the studio for about three months. Eventually I made these nineteen works in response to the fire and with the intention of honoring the mature trees which were gone forever, not to return in my lifetime. Lost were huge junipers, Joshuas, pinon pines, California scrub oak, and Manzanitas and more.
